Project Work:
DKA supports projects in the following fields.DKA Austria is the development cooperation agency of Jungschar. In 1955 the Carol Singers' Campaign was launched for the first time and thus enabled DKA to support projects and programmes in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Oceania.
Our priority countries of cooperation are:
- Brazil, Colombia, Central America
- Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa
- India, The Philippines
Carol Singing Campaign:
90,000 children dressed up as the Three Wise Men move from house to house all over Austria every year Apart from that, we support projects in the following countries: Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, Ghana, Ethiopia, Sudan, China, Sri Lanka and Papua New Guinea.
Many people in the South are affected by unfair structures and the violation of human rights. The Catholic Children's Movement considers it a duty to draw the attention of the Austrian public to injustice and to support local people. This kind of advocacy work is an important part of our activities.
The educational activities of DKA keep people in Austria informed about living conditions in the countries of the South. Apart from that DKA informs about unfair economic and political structures.
Katholische Jungschar: The Catholic Children's Movement is the largest children's organisation in Austria.
Furthermore, DKA supports educational work of other development organisations in Austria and cooperates with several national and international NGOs.
